Bass Pro Shop Museum and Aquarium

My husband, Carrie, and I are spending a few days in Branson, MO this week. Today we drove to Springfield, MO to go shopping and visit the Bass Pro Shop Museum and Aquarium. The things Johnny Morris has done with Bass Pro, the museum, and the aquarium are just phenomenal. The tour of the museum and aquarium took hours and was worth every penny.

The official name is the Johnny Morris Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium.

I took a few pics along the way, but it is just a smidgen of what you will see if you visit.

Highlights

One of the highlights of the museum and aquarium was the video of award-winning young photographers. Images and video were just astounding. There were several opportunities to see and watch videos and we welcomed the rest break))) You ramble around at your own pace and there are people to answer questions if you need them. There are also elevators that we took advantage of several times.

It was kind of hard to be sure that we saw it all, and we could have missed some exhibits.

Of course, there is great shopping to be had at the Bass Pro Shop Museum and Aquarium))) Even for non-fishermen))) After looking at the boats and all the things, I found a small tackle box that is perfect for holding my loaded tea packets. Plus, we found some great buys on fleece pullovers. And I should have taken a pic for you……some of the awfullest “fish flops” you have ever seen. The grandkids are getting these…lol

Tickets

Our cost to get into the museum and aquarium was $28 each and that was with a senior discount. They have all sorts of ticketing prices and options and they encourage you to reserve your ticket online, but we just showed up and had no problem getting in. The only problem I had with the tickets was to hold on to them because we had to show them three times when we entered different sections of the museum and aquarium. This could be done better I think, but other than that, we had no complaints.
