Cherry Chocolate Protein Smoothie: A Tasty Blend of Rich Chocolate and Juicy Cherries
A cherry chocolate smoothie is the perfect blend of rich, indulgent flavor and homemade goodness. This tasty treat not only satisfies your sweet tooth but also makes it easy to get your protein fix. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and nutritious smoothie that’s a pleasure to make and even more enjoyable to drink!
Flavor Inspiration
The inspiration for the cherry chocolate protein smoothie I guess you could say the old candy bar “Cherry Humps.” Now, this goes way back……to school-age times)) If you don’t remember the candy, it was a chocolate-covered cherry cordial. One of my favorites))
How To Make It
This smoothie comes together in just a few minutes—all the ingredients go straight into the blender at once, and you’re done! The key is to keep sliced bananas in the freezer, ready to go. I like to slice a banana, place the slices in a small snack bag, and freeze them flat. When I do my grocery shopping and grab a bunch of bananas, I prep them all at once so I always have a convenient supply ready for my smoothies.
Another thing that makes this cherry chocolate protein smoothie so easy to make, is that it starts with a ready-made protein drink. I buy the chocolate and vanilla protein drinks in a four-pack and keep them in the refrigerator. You do want them chilled before using.

Fav Flavors
Do you have a favorite flavor for a protein smoothie or a different way of making them? I’d love to hear about your recipes.
I’ve been enjoying experimenting with different flavors and have started freezing juices like Simply Light orange juice and Zero Sugar Lemonade. I measure out a cup of liquid, pour it into ice trays, and freeze it. Once frozen, I store the juice cubes in individual bags in the freezer. This way, I can easily keep track of measurements and add flavorful juice cubes to my smoothies without diluting them with plain ice.
I have to admit, the cherry chocolate protein smoothie might just be one of my all-time favorites!
I wasn’t completely satisfied with the photo of this smoothie, though. It was the last of the whipped cream, and despite checking three different grocery stores, I couldn’t find a jar of long-stemmed cherries!
