DIY Flower Wreath

Carrie and I made this fabric mesh flower wreath on a Facebook live the other day. If you missed the live, you can catch the replay on YouTube.

A flower wreath is an easy DIY project and it doesn’t take too many supplies. We made this flower wreath out fabric mesh, but you can use poly burlap, metallic or non-metallic mesh. Here’s a link to a similar sunflower wreath I made a while back using simple plain deco mesh in two colors.

Basic Steps for Fabric Mesh Flower Wreath

  • Preload the board with zip ties.
  • Row 1: 16 zip ties, 32 pieces of 10″ green mesh for leaves.
  • Row 2: 16 zip ties, 16 pieces of white mesh, 16 pieces of aqua mesh
  • Row 3: 8 zip ties (placed in the two holes close together, skip the single hole); 8 pieces of white mesh, 8 pieces of aqua mesh.
  • Row 4: 8 zip ties, 8 pieces of white fabric mesh, and 8 pieces of white fabric mesh.
  • Row 5 and Center Hole: no zip ties. Flower center to be hot glued.
  • Cut the mesh into 10″ pieces. Place two “petals” in each zip tie.
  • Hot glue the flower center and make a hanger with a zip tie. Clip the frays.

Fabric Mesh

All total, you need 32 pieces of white and 32 of aqua for the fabric mesh flower wreath. One roll of each mesh should be sufficient. I love working with fabric mesh! It has a bit of Polyester along with Polypropylene which gives it more of a fabric feel and less plastic.

More Crafting to Come

I’m not sure what Carrie has in store next, but do follow the Trendy Tree page. She has two guest designers coming next week who will be sharing lots of new ideas and products!
