Decorating With Faux Florals: How a Few Stems Can Make a Big Impact

Floral arrangements in an old wooden crate showing how a few florals can make a big impact

A Little Disclaimer and a Lot of Inspiration

Just a quick note before we get started — this example of decorating with faux florals isn’t an arrangement I created myself. I spotted the display in a showroom and immediately thought how simple it would be to recreate with the right products. While not everyone has an old rustic wooden crate tucked away somewhere, it’s surprising how easily you can come up with something similar once you really notice the beautiful impact that decorating with faux florals can create.

A Simple Floral Formula That Works

What struck me most about this arrangement was how effortless the formula really is. The foundation is simply a generous mix of greenery — something Trendy Tree usually has plenty of on hand. Tucked into that lush base were just a couple of large hydrangea blooms and a full tulip bush inserted as a single grouping. A few twig sprays added height and movement, and suddenly the whole piece looked layered and intentional. It’s amazing how only a handful of colorful blooms can create such a standout display.

Unexpected Patriotic Decorating Inspiration

Looking at it again, I can’t help but think how perfect this color combination would be for a patriotic decorating theme. Red tulips paired with white and blue hydrangeas feel fresh and cheerful without looking overly themed. Sometimes all it takes is one inspiring photo to get the creative juices flowing. It’s amazing how one pic can help us see new possibilities in supplies we already have.

Use What You Have on Hand

If you don’t have a rustic crate or box to work with, don’t let that stop you. A large wicker basket or even a weathered galvanized container would give a similar relaxed, collected look. One of my friends has an old copper tub that practically screams for an arrangement like this. I’ve borrowed it before for a Halloween display. Now I’m thinking it might be time to borrow it again. 🙂
