Pumpkin Floral Arrangement

It’s never too early to start planning for fall decorating, especially when you can pull out those leftover picks and sprays from past seasons and freshen things up with a few new finds along the way. I’ve seen beautiful pumpkin arrangements made on top of foam pumpkins and even inside hollowed-out real pumpkins filled with fresh flowers, so I decided to try my own version. But instead of using a real pumpkin, I chose a foam pumpkin since they last much longer and don’t attract those pesky little gnats that seem to appear out of nowhere.

Supplies
Foam Pumpkin (If you can’t find one large enough at Walmart, I’ve included my Amazon affiliate link.)
Styrofoam
Hot Glue
Florals (From Trendy Tree)
Ribbon (From Trendy Tree)
Wood Wool or Spanish Moss (Amazon)
My pumpkin floral arrangement was made entirely from leftover floral pieces. You know that stash you keep instead of throwing away those extra stems, greenery, and little bits from past projects? Well, my stash has grown pretty large over the years and holds florals for just about every season imaginable! For this arrangement, I pulled out some fall favorites like sunflowers, golden blooms, berries, and autumn greenery. I also used leftover ribbon to make a simple bow, attached it to a floral pick, and tucked it right into the Styrofoam pumpkin arrangement.

Instructions
- Remove the stem from a foam pumpkin
- Hot glue a piece of Styrofoam to the top of the pumpkin
- Start with your largest blooms and fill in with other pieces, working from side to side, front to back
- Attach a simple bow using a floral pick or wooden skewer to secure it to the Styrofoam
- Cover Styrofoam with wood wool, moss, or Spanish moss, attaching with hot glue as need. Or you could use floral pins too.
Cordless Glue Gun for Craft Projects
One of my favorite tools for projects like this pumpkin floral arrangement is my cordless glue gun. It makes crafting so much easier when you’re moving around a project and don’t have to worry about a cord dragging across the table or tipping the glue gun over.
For this arrangement, I used small bunches of wood wool attached with hot glue to help cover the Styrofoam around the florals. Just a little warning…hot glue is HOT, so watch those fingers!
I found my cordless glue gun at Harbor Freight, and it has turned out to be one of the handiest tools on my craft table. Funny enough, this past weekend we bought a new cordless drill and discovered the batteries fit the glue gun too. That was a nice surprise since now there’s usually a charged battery nearby when I need one.

Fall is my favorite time of the year no doubt. It puts me in the mood for decorating even if it is still blazing hot right now…..cooler weather is coming)))
