Halloween Tree Decorating Ideas from Dallas Market

When it comes to Halloween tree decorating ideas, I’m all about the whimsical and spooky—not the blood-curdling horror! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for, and adding fun, festive touches is half the fun.
Going to market with Carrie from Trendy Tree is always a treat, especially when we get to explore all the creative Halloween displays. This year at the Dallas Market, a few Halloween trees really stopped us in our tracks—they were just over the top in the best way! I snapped some pics and put together a short video below to share the festive fun and spark a little inspiration.
Simple & Stylish Halloween Decorating Ideas (Beyond the Tree!)
f you’re not quite ready to commit to a full Halloween tree, don’t worry—there are so many ways to add festive flair to your space! Start small with a wreath, door hanger, or even a simple bow on a Halloween sign. A lantern topper is another easy and adorable option. And when it comes to colors, think beyond the traditional orange and black. Halloween decorating has gone bold and creative—pops of purple, lime green, and even non-traditional shades like pink and teal are showing up more and more. Whether your vibe is playful or a little spooky, there’s room to have fun with Halloween décor in a way that fits your style and space.
🎃 Bows & Balls: A Fun Twist on Classic Halloween Tree Decor
One of my favorite Halloween tree decorating ideas from the market was the big bows with ball ornaments in the center. I loved these! The bows were made with fun Halloween ribbon—stripes, checks, ghosts, and more—and the ornament in the middle gave it such a cute, finished look. It’s an easy way to dress up a tree and make it feel extra festive.
🧡 Narrow & Nice: Rethinking the Classic Halloween Bow

Another Halloween tree decorating idea I loved was this bow made entirely with narrow ribbon. So many times we feel like we have to layer ribbon in multiple widths—4″, 2.5″, 1.5″, and so on—to get that full, designer look. But this bow proves that simple can be just as eye-catching! The mix of narrow textures and patterns gives it movement and personality without feeling overdone. It’s a great option if you’re working with leftovers or just want something different.
👻 A Little Spook Never Hurt
Well, I said I don’t really do gory Halloween—but I might have made an exception once! This lantern topper I made a few years ago featured a pair of mummy hands wrapped around a candle, and it still makes me laugh. I think I’ve still got those hands stashed somewhere. Since we don’t have little ones around much anymore, I just might dig them out and whip up something spooky to give the grown grandkids a little start. 👻 Sometimes a touch of the unexpected is what makes Halloween decorating the most fun!
