The Draped Greenery Wreath: A Fresh Take on a Holiday Classic

greenery wreaths in draped and round style for comparison

One trend we spotted at the Dallas Market this season? A fresh take on the traditional holiday wreath—what we’re calling the draped greenery wreath. It’s natural, relaxed, and brings that handmade, slightly rustic charm we all love.

Rather than the usual perfectly circular shape, these wreaths let the greenery flow downward along both sides, almost like a garland gently curved into a wreath form. The top center is wrapped in burlap or natural twine, creating a defined “top” and allowing the branches to drape beautifully. This top detail also makes the perfect spot for adding a bow, hanging bells, or other festive touches that make the wreath uniquely yours.

I took this photo at one of the showrooms during Dallas Market. This wreath shows off the draped greenery look with branches hanging down each side. The gold metal bow at the top adds a pretty touch of sparkle while keeping the natural feel.

This wreath is another standout from Dallas Market, featuring the same natural draped greenery style, accented with pinecones and a deep red velvet ribbon tied in the fashionable “droopy shoestring” style. Decorating a wreath doesn’t get much easier—or more elegant—than this!

This last wreath features a beautiful gold, antique-style bell as the accent. The look is simple and elegant, and honestly, it would be just as pretty with or without the extra embellishment. And if you’re loving the chunky bells and metal bows, keep an eye on Trendy Tree—several styles are arriving this summer, just in time to inspire your holiday decorating!

One of the best things about this draped greenery style? It’s a total win for anyone who makes their own wreaths using fresh branches—like I do! With this look, you don’t have to wrestle with perfect symmetry. You can simply start laying in your branches from the bottom up on one side, then the other, ending at the top with a natural stopping point. It’s easier to build, easier to style, and still looks beautiful and intentional. A perfect blend of ease and elegance for the holiday season! I can’t wait to try one this holiday season!
