Bee-utiful Decor: Craft a “Bee Happy” Wreath

deco mesh wreath with bee happy sign

Make a Bee Happy wreath for your front door! It’s cheery and colorful and a warm welcome to your guests. Carrie and I made this deco mesh wreath a few days ago as a Facebook live and you can watch the replay on YouTube or on the Trendy Tree Facebook page. All the supplies came from Trendy Tree and I’ll list those for you.

Trendy Tree Supplies

Yellow Pencil Wreath XX750429

Black Fabric Mesh XB97910-21

Sunflower Fabric Mesh XB97910-49

Bee Happy Sign AP8778

Fuchsia Bee and Butterfly Ribbon 45104-40-28

Black and White Polka Dot Ribbon RGA193502

Honeycomb Ribbon 41259-09-49

Fuchsia and White Stripe Ribbon RX9148TN

Basic Steps

  • Fabric Mesh: I love working with fabric mesh, it’s probably my favorite. Cut strips into 20″ lengths. You’ll need the entire roll of the yellow and black.
  • Make the Ruffle: Curl the cut edges under a couple of times, and scrunch up through the middle to make a ruffle. Stack two ruffles together and secure in a twist. We alternated yellow on top with black on top.
  • Ribbon Strips: Cut strips of ribbon 13″ in length and trim the tails with an angled cut or dove-tail. We made a cluster of each of the four ribbons stacking the 1.5″ ribbons on top of the 2.5.” Open up a twist, keeping the ruffles in place, and secure the ribbon cluster. Spread the ribbons out so they all show nicely.
  • Attach the Sign: Staple two chenille stems to the back of the sign, position, and secure to the wreath form.
  • Make a Bow: The wreath would be pretty without ribbon strips if you prefer just a bow on your wreath. If you choose not to make ribbon strips, you can make two or three bows instead.

Family Fun

Crafting with family is fun))) I’m lucky that Carrie has a business that I can be involved in….when I want to))) It hasn’t been so long though that I have forgotten the days where we stayed up late at night getting orders out, working on Saturdays and Sundays. It was just the two of us (hubby and me) working and sometimes Carrie would come out at night after she got off work to help us out. David too! I don’t miss those days)))

Don’t forget to pin this for later!
