Our son-in-law David is a great cook and one of his tried and true recipes is dirty rice. The grandchildren have grown up on it and still ask for it frequently.

Instructions

This dirty rice recipe is super easy to make, the only drawback is, that you have to plan ahead of time. It takes a little over an hour to bake and in these days of quick and easy….this recipe is really easy, just plan ahead.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray an oven-safe dish with cooking spray. Even with the cooking spray, the dish did take a little extra cleanup. Next time I think I’ll use a disposable foil pan.

Mix Ingredients

Mix the dry rice (not minute rice) with the two cans of soup. Pour into the baking dish and dot with butter. Place a lid on the dish and bake for 1 hour and 10 min.

In hindsight, I think this dish would have been ready to come out in an hour. Just test yours after one hour and see if you need a few more minutes or not.

We ate our dirty rice with smoked sausage and it was delicious! It’s also great with a roast, chicken, pork chops, or ribs.

I didn’t add any extra salt, pepper, or seasonings. The french onion soup and consomme have a good bit of salt to start with so don’t make this mistake. We all get in the habit of salting before we even taste don’t we!

Thanks for visiting my blog, I appreciate it so much))
