What a name — Frog Spit! I’m not sure I even want to know where the name came from. But that didn’t stop Maggie from trying out this fun loaded tea recipe over the weekend. Like so many of the loaded teas we’ve played with lately, this one comes from Silver Lining Lessons — which is our go-to source for new flavors. With a name like Frog Spit Loaded Tea, you almost have to try it at least once… and of course, I had to document the moment!

Frog Spit Loaded Tea has a bright citrus base with layers of blue raspberry, lemonade, and green apple for a sour, tart and tangy flavor that really pops. Homemade loaded teas are super easy to make — and they’ll save you a ton of money in the process. On average, one drink will cost you less than a dollar! Compare that to the $7-$12 you’ll pay at most specialty shops. Jana at Silver Lining Lessons has found dupes for the Herbalife ingredients that most of the teas in those shops are made with. Her site is full of helpful info — if you want to dive in and start collecting flavors, this is the place to start! It’s been such a fun journey. Helpful Tools for Making Loaded Teas at Home
If you’re ready to jump into the world of homemade loaded teas, here are a few tools I use and love — they really make the process easier (and more fun!).
- Magnetic measuring spoons — so handy when you’re working with lots of flavors. They are color-coded and magnetic!
- 32 Ounce plastic drink cups with screw on lid and straw — set of 3 insulated cups with reuseable strong plastic straws that hold up well.
- Disposable 32 oz cups with straws and lids — a must-have for grandkid-friendly “tea to go” days.
- Waka assorted teas and guarana powder — my go-to choices for making loaded teas at home (both from Amazon). When I first started making loaded teas, I used Waka green tea in all the recipes. It worked))
