Mardi Gras Loaded Tea

February 13th is Mardi Gras and a perfect way to start the celebration is with this Mardi Gras loaded tea (recipe from Silver Lining Lessons).

I’ve never been working my way through some of the recipes that Silver Lining Lessons created and so far have not been disappointed! I’m blogging about some of my favorites)))

The Recipe

Just a few ingredients

  • 1 tsp 4C Energy Rush – citrus
  • 1/4 tsp Waka green tea powder
  • 1/8 tsp Nutricost guarana powder
  • 1/2 tsp Margaritaville – margarita drink mix
  • 1/2 tsp Hawaiian Punch – berry blue typhoon mix
  • 1/4 tsp Skittle – grape drink mix
  • 2 oz cold aloe vera juice
  • Water
  • Ice

Mixology Magic

Dissolve 4C citrus, tea, guarana, and margarita drink mix in 4 oz of hot water.

Pour into the bottom of a 32 oz cup.

Pack the cup with ice.

Coat the top of the ice with the cold aloe vera juice.

Mix berry blue typhoon with 8 oz of cold water and pour over the ice.

Mix grape with 2 oz of cold water and pour over the ice.

Silver Lining Lessons

If you want to know more about how to make loaded teas at home, I encourage you to visit the Silver Lining Lessons website. It contains a wealth of information and so many recipes! I’m gradually building my supply of flavors and keeping track of the recipes we especially like. Mardi Gras is definitely going to be one of my favorites.

You can make any of the loaded tea recipes and leave out the extra caffeine if you wish. One teaspoon of any of the 4C Energy Rush drink mixes has about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. According to the 4C website, a whole packet contains 170 mg of caffeine. Most recipes all for 1 tsp of the powder.

Until Next Time

Stay tuned and I’ll keep posting the loaded teas that we like. So far I can tell that anything with a berry base is not my favorite. My preference has been anything with a citrus or orange base like the Mardi Gras loaded tea.

And, I’m still on the lookout for some of the ingredients to make a protein shake. It’s like scavenger hunt!

    1. LOL…please comment!! At least that way I know someone is reading my posts))) I tried one yesterday that I didn’t really care for…it had a berry base with grape and while it was okay I won’t make it again for myself anyway. I keep finding new ingredients to add to my stash. My husband says I need to start selling them out of the back of my car…lol. My 100 clear cups from Amazon come in today….that way my grands and Carrie can get there “to go” drinks..lol
