🎄 Simple, Stylish & Scratch-Free Holiday Decorating
One of the most timeless, chic holiday looks is hanging small wreaths symmetrically from tall cabinet doors. It’s a simple yet elegant way to instantly dress up your kitchen for the season—and now, with this padded back wreath, it’s easier (and safer) than ever. The padded backing not only protects cabinet finishes, but also makes this wreath perfect for hanging in front of mirrors or windows without worrying about scratching paint or glass. Whether you hang them with ribbon, twine, or hooks, these wreaths add a cozy, festive touch with minimal effort.
🛠️ How to Hang Your Padded Back Wreath
Hanging your new padded back wreath is quick and easy—no tools or stress required! Here are a few tried-and-true methods:
- Ribbon Loop:
Loop a length of ribbon through the top of the wreath and drape it over your cabinet door or mirror. Secure it on the back side with an upside-down Command Hook—a neat trick that keeps everything hidden and damage-free. - Command Hooks: A clear or color-matched Command Hook can be placed directly on the front of your cabinet if you want to hang the wreath without ribbon. Personally, I prefer placing the hook upside down on the inside of the cabinet door. That way, if it doesn’t come off cleanly, it’s less noticeable and won’t damage the exterior.
- Small Tacks or Thumbnails: I haven’t tried this, but I’ve read that you can use a thumbnail, or more than one, to secure ribbon to the top of the cabinet door. Not the front, but on the very top. I would want to be careful that the thumbnail didn’t interfere with closing the door, or leave any marks when closed.
- Over-the-Door-Hangers: Personally, I tend to avoid these. While I’ve used them on my front door in the past, I eventually switched to a metal Command Hook that’s held strong for over seven years—and I haven’t looked back! That said, if you do opt for an over-the-door hanger, I’d recommend choosing the clearest, narrowest, and most non-scratch option available. Still, for cabinet doors or interior use, I think the wreath looks much prettier hanging from a simple ribbon—it adds that extra touch of charm!
No matter how you hang it, that padded back wreath gives peace of mind that your surfaces will stay protected while your space looks beautifully festive.
🔄 Real-Life Try: My Pantry Door Wreath (Ribbon Woes and All!)
I tried this out myself a while back by hanging a wreath on my pantry door using an upside-down Command Hook on the inside. It worked great! I’ll admit, my ribbon was a bit of a mess because I didn’t measure it very well—but you’ll get the idea. You can check out that post below. Just click the image.
