This site is perfect for parents, grandparents, and educators looking to enrich little ones’ lives. Please take a moment to review it and share it with your friends!

Sprinkled with Stories: Inspiring Books for Kids
You’ll find carefully curated book lists that inspire creativity, honesty, honor, and a love for nature. Katie reviews each book personally and only includes titles with beautiful illustrations and engaging activities that captivate young readers. For example, her fall book list highlights seasonal stories that bring the magic of autumn to life. These book lists are a wonderful resource for parents and educators looking to enrich their children’s reading experiences with high-quality, thoughtfully chosen books.
Yummy Recipes!
On Mud Pies with Sprinkles, you’ll find recipes that both you and your child will love, along with ones they can help prepare. Cooking with kids can be challenging and messy, but Katie highlights the learning opportunities in the process. Examples may include counting chocolate chips, washing apples, gathering utensils, or measuring ingredients. These small tasks make cooking a fun and educational experience for little ones
Katie’s Background
Katie holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and has worked extensively as a pediatric therapist, caring for children with neurological deficits, injuries, and NICU cases. Despite her busy life with three children, the baby is under six months old, she still manages to run Mud Pies with Sprinkles.
The activities she shares are thoughtfully designed to enhance cognitive, motor, language, and social skills. Additionally, Katie’s Christian faith is deeply woven into her work. She and her husband use developmentally appropriate lessons, crafts, and activities to nurture their children’s faith.
It’s All Free!
Everything you find for download on Mud Pies with Sprinkles is completely free! As the entrepreneur in the family, I keep telling Katie she should charge for these amazing resources! But she prefers to keep her site clean and ad-free—something we all appreciate. Her support comes from visits to her website, where she generously shares the materials she’s created for her own children. Please visit and spread the word!
And if you’ve read this far, thank you so much! We’re so proud of Katie and her sweet family. It reminds me of how precious those childhood teaching moments are—they’re here only for a while, so cherish them while you can.
Kids Being Kids
I can’t wrap up this post without sharing a bit about my recent visit with Katie and her family. The oldest little girl kept me entertained most of the time, showing me her room, dress-up clothes, and reading books together—typical fun for a little one.
Before we left, Katie asked her daughter to tell me what she wants to be when she grows up. With a big smile, she answered, “A chef, an author… or a garbage man.”
