You gotta try this lemony coconut protein smoothie! It’s a keeper)))

Remember When…

A few days ago, I shared a recipe for a Lemonade Protein Smoothie. While it turned out tasty, it was higher in calories and carbs than I wanted, so I decided to tweak the recipe and make some improvements.

This lemony coconut protein smoothie is more in line with what I felt were acceptable carbs and calories. The first lemon smoothie had over 300 calories and almost 30 carbs! But after tweaking my recipe a little, I was able to reserve the tangy tart test with less carbs and calories))

I’m not sure why the image of the smoothie looks more like a chocolate milkshake unless it’s the cup or lighting. The smoothie is a light cream color.

Lemony Coconut Protein Smoothie

This homemade lemony coconut protein smoothie is a delicious blend of tangy, creamy, and sweet flavors that will leave you feeling refreshed and satisfied. Combining a base of vanilla protein shake, frozen banana, toasted coconut Greek yogurt, and lemonade ice cubes, this smoothie is both satisfying and revitalizing. Plus, it’s packed with protein, making it an ideal post-workout snack or a quick breakfast option.

Lemonade Ice Cubes

Lemonade ice cubes? Yes, after I saw how many carbs were in frozen lemonade concentrate, I knew we needed an alternative. So I chose Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade and froze a cup as ice cubes. So, this smoothie does take a little advanced preparation, but it’s simple.

Once the lemonade ice cubes are frozen, simply pop them out of the tray, place them in a ziplock bag, and store them in the freezer. After freezing the first batch, I realized I didn’t have a way to measure the amount of lemonade I was using. On my second attempt, I measured the lemonade before freezing it—an easy fix!

Ingredients

1 container

Premier Protein Vanilla Shake

1

Frozen Banana (in slices)

1 cup

Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade (frozen into cubes)

1 Container

Dannon Light & Fit Toasted Coconut Greek Yogurt (5.3 oz)

2 tablespoons

DaVinci Sugar-Free Coconut Syrup

2 tablespoons

Great Value Sugar-Free French Vanilla Coffee Creamer

1 packet

Starburst Lemon Drink Mix

1 packet

Margaritaville Pina Colada Drink Mix

Blend It!

Combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth. If you still have chunks of ice, continue blending until they’re fully incorporated. I use a Ninja blender and typically make my smoothies on the “crush ice” setting for the best results.

Notes

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Note: Prepare the lemonade ice cubes ahead of time by pouring one cup of lemonade into an ice try. Freeze, then store the lemonade cubes in the freezer in a ziplock bag until ready to use. This eliminates the need for extra ice and adds to the lemony flavor.
Topping is optional. I used whipped cream, a bit of coconut and lemon zest as a little extra. The topping is not calculated in the nutritional facts, which are just estimates and not calculated by a nutritionist.
