Rice Krispie Treaets

Rice Krispie treats….who doesn’t love the Snap! Crackle! Pop! of Rice Krispies))) I love the sounds and the characters! Snap! Crackle! Pop! are the cartoon mascots for Kellogg’s Rice Krispies. They are gnome characters and I just noticed that they only have four fingers. They have been around since the late 1930s.

Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, along with Corn Flakes, were the cereals we grew up on. My family never cared much for Cheerios.

Sugar or No Sugar

Do you like your cereal with sugar? We never ate sugar on cereal growing up, but my husband never ate his without it!

We still eat our cereal the way we grew up except for now, we leave off that breakfast cereal and try to opt for a more healthy start to the day. I do like sliced bananas or blueberries on mine though.

Growing up we never had anything but Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies until the little brother came along. You know how it is with the youngest in the family, they get anything they want! Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, Cocoa Krispies…you name it, it was in the cabinet!

My Favs

Here are a couple of my favorite Rice Krispie treat recipes. One is a variation of the original recipe on the back of the box. And another is one that I experimented with that turned out great according to my grandson))

Rice Krispie Treats

My all-time favorite is Rice Krispie treats with vanilla cream filling. These are addictive! They are loaded with sugar, but having one occasionally can’t be that bad, just don’t eat half a pan!

Peanut Butter Balls with Rice Krispies

My second favorite Rice Krispie recipe is Peanut Butter Balls with Rice Krispies
